The Savithribai Phule Educational and Charitable Trust (Regd No.15 / 2009) and All India Organ & Body Donors Association which works for the noble cause in creating awareness in the fields of 1) Voluntary whole body donations to medical colleges for research and educational purposes , and 2) Organ Donations from the deceased brain death cases in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana states and parts of tamilnadu, kerala and Odissa.
With the forevision to improve quality of medical education to medical students and skilled operations and research in various fields of medicine, a cadaver being the only live source for learning, awareness camps were conducted and collected Voluntary whole body donations pledges from 15000 persons and donated above 100 cadavers to the medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.
With the aim to increase the number of organs for transplantation, represents one of the best examples of the scientific achievements of medical scienc, Awareness camps were conducted in various places of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odissa, Tamilnadu and Kerala and the public encouraged to pledge to donate their organs after clinical death and we received 30000 nos Organ donation pledges.
We are very happy to inform that the Jeevandan Unit was established in the Andhra Pradesh state from our various representations and Toll free number 1800 42564444 was provided by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh for information on harvesting of organs and recently approved to 3nos Government hospitals for organized transplants, which can help the poor ..

With the increase in demand to organs, there is a large variation in supply and demand of human organs and to reduce organ trafficking, various suggestions were submitted to Government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, to see that the recent advanced medical technology reaches all people without any financial barriers. Various suggestions were also submitted to the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

We herewith request you Sir, to kindly consider and recommend some of our suggestions for better evolving a better transplantation of Human Organ Act.
The obstacles and the needs that are faced listed below for the favor and the support of Government.

For Organ Donations from Clinically dead / brain death Patient and Transplantations:

The concept of Human Organ and body donation to be added to syllabus of our education at all levels, especially Nursing, Physio, Health and Medicine branches.

Medical Transplantation tourism need to be banned… Organs must be allotted ONLY to the Indians, as banned in case of SURROGACY

A column need to be introduced in the Driving License, Voter Card, Ration Card, AADHAR Card and other Public Identity Cards issued by the Government.
Amendments in the following fields need to be done

a) For Removal of Organs from minors, children less than 18years and children with out master / protector / Orphan Special Guidelines need to be FRAMED.

b) The THOA 2014 SL.NO.21 of Eligibility of applicant to donate.— In the course, of determining eligibility of the applicant to donate, the applicant should be personally interviewed by the Authorization Committee which shall be videographed and minutes of the interview. shall be recorded. And sl.no.23 Decision of Authorization Committee.— 23 (iv) all interviews to be video recorded.
The process of video recording during the declaration of brain death by the panel of doctors may also be video graphed and the same may be protected under the safe custody not below the first class district magistrate.

c) AUDIT & ACCOUNTABILITY:
Audit on allocation of the Organ on every quarter with a committee constituting not below the rank of Director general of medical sciences, one from police department, one from legal department authorized from the state government / NOTTO

Accountability to doctors and hospitals for organs transplanted…. There is no clear graph of the status of the organ transplant recipients of how long the patient survived, reasons for failure of transplantation, life span of 1st transplantation, etc .. need to be analysed and report need to be maintained on the organ Recipients (kidney).

The state government run authorization committees and zonal transplant coordination committees do IMPORT SOFTWARES from different countries… the priority of allotting an organ and algorithm need to be verified and approved by the NOTTO / SOTTO / ROTTO.

The transplantation of Human Organ Act 1994, was amended in 2014, but most of the states DONOT implement the latest amended rules of the ACT, this may be given HIGH priority to IMPLEMENT the rules and ACT in COMMON by all the STATES and Zonal Transplant Coordination Committees.

All government hospitals must be able to conduct human organ transplantations and the availability of human organ transplant coordinator may be kept available round the clock and post operative medicines need to be supplied at FREE of cost.

As kidney being the most required organ for ESRD patients, the criteria for allotting an organ to the needy youngsters is to be given preference ie, when the donor is less than 35years old, preference of allotting need to be given to patients of age less than 18 years.

The donors families may be honored and importance may be given to felicitate the donors.

The waiting list of organ required for transplantation may be displayed in the websites.

Organ Transplantations need to be covered under various government introduced health schemes for the benefit the poor.

Strengthening of Transplantation of Human Organ Act to avoid Organ Trafficking.

For Voluntary Whole Body Donations to medical colleges after cardiac * death:

The prescribed ratio of a dead body to Medicos for anatomy
purpose is 1: 5–15 whereas it is not even 1:50. Hence Voluntary willed body donation programs / awareness camps may be conducted by the medical colleges periodically and if necessary help from the NGOs working for this Noble cause may be taken.

The medical colleges may be directed to respect the donor and next of kin may be provided a hair / nails as is done in AIIMS, New delhi in respect to donor for final rituals as India is bound with religious ascpects.

After medical and research purposes, a high respect must be given by the medical students / doctors / professors during learning from cadavers and during disposal of cadavers after teaching and research purposes, as they have obtained skills from such cadaver (silent teacher).

The medical colleges should take the responsibility of collecting the human dead bodies / cadavers from the donors residence in intimation by the next of kin.
A Toll FREE number under the control of Vice chancellor, University of Medical sciences may be provided for intimation of whole body donations to medical colleges and collecting the bodies 24x7.

At most instances when the death occurs on Sunday / Holiday, the Anatomy department and concerned medical college must be held responsible for collecting the body and preserve at the related hospital mortuary until next working day.

Incase delayed by the circumstances freezer boxes should be arranged till the collection of the bodies.

For Whole body donors, A column need to be introduced in the Driving license, Voter card, Ration card, AADHAR card and other Public Identity cards issued by the Government.

The movement of cadavers reached to medical colleges for dissection in the form of donations / unclaimed bodies need to be maintained.

Your wise decision in Black & White in one line will be a new path way for the young generations in improving the medicinal skills and extending the life through the advanced modern technology of Human Transplantations.

What doctors learn from Cadavers:

1 brain
Dissecting the brain allows students to appreciate the location of its component parts. It also yields valuable information about the blood supply and the possible consequences of interruption to this in different areas, such as through a stroke.

2 face
There are more than 40 muscles for facial expression. Their complex arrangement and function, and the distribution of fine and delicate nerves that supply them, can only be understood by dissection.

3 neck
This is a formidably complex system of nerves, blood vessels and tubular organs such as the windpipe and gullet. Careful and detailed dissection simplifies a student's understanding of the anatomical arrangement.

4 Chest cavity and lungs
Besides sheltering the heart and lungs, the chest contains the windpipe and its myriad branches that spread in the lung. It is only by dissecting the lungs and the complicated system of branching airways and blood vessels within that students can understand their amazing gas-exchanging functions. The role of the heart is intimately related to its internal and external design. It was through detailed dissection of the heart that William Harvey, in the 17th century, made his momentous discovery about blood circulation.

5 Hand and foot
The hand and foot are models of mechanical engineering. It is only by patient, meticulous and comprehensive dissection that the complex and intricate arrangement of tendons, muscles, ligaments and small bones within the hand and foot can be properly understood and the functions of the muscles and tendons fully appreciated.

6 Knee joint
The knee is the major weight-bearing joint in the body. A detailed dissection allows appreciation of the spatial relationships of various muscles to the knee joint and yields much information about the mechanical roles of ligaments, cartilages and muscles.
